NO *matchy matchy* here!

Some days we are all about *matchy matchy* but most days I'm looking to put together the unexpected outfit!  I love it that an outfit doesn't have to match perfectly!  It's all about HUES and POPS of color these days.  We're all a little messy and I love making messy -- WORK!   Thank goodness we have become more open and creative with mixing and matching color - especially with boys!

{boy1 is wearing his Mini Boden jersey baggies with a (last season) super soft yellow tee from tea and  a (last season) green long sleeve tee from Mini Boden plus kicks from diesel; boy2 is also wearing his Mini Boden jersey baggies with a different hue of blue appaman tee and a (last season) grey long sleeve tee from Mini Boden plus (last season) camo kicks from Old Navy & Sambas.}

how we did Easter

 {we're not really into this}

 {that was quick, SMILES all around}

{this mom gets dressed too!}

now for play time...

Legos, legos, legos...

This is how we did Easter!  I usually find one piece and build on that!  I found the bottoms first, a navy cross dot short from Fore Axel and Hudson (purchased here - PSSST:  they are reversible - that look coming soon). Then I saw the top, this pink plaid, part preppy/part vintage, with the navy detail from Kalliope (purchased here) and just new it would be a great Easter look!  I threw in some navy canvas Sperry's and !POOF! -- instant comfortable, colorful Easter boys!

{boy1 is wearing a super soft and thin Razorback tee from a local store (Masons) with cool long shorts from Mini Shatsu and black slip-ons from Native; boy2 is wearing a cool vintage vibe tee from  Charlie Rocket and Knuckleheads mini cord shorts and Native shoes as well!}

get your sticks!

PHEW!  We finally have the warm weather we've all been wishing for this spring!  We had to get out on the golf course!  I love pairing a color block top with a solid on the bottom (boy1, pretty safe) but then I also love  pulling together a solid top and solid bottom with fun shoes (boy2)!  Both looks can be achieved with any of the tops/bottoms hanging in your messy, stinky boy closet! ;-)

{boy1 is wearing a fun color block polo from Mini Boden with grey long shorts from Fore Axle and Hudson with  Boden socks and his white chucks;  boy2 is wearing old H&M orange pants that I cut off and let fray with a solid green Crew Cuts polo with Old Navy camo slip-ons!}

acorn cords AKA: khakis

It's been hard to get the boys into their spring clothes...we actually had snow flurries Monday.   We should be warming up this week!!  So excited to put some great spring looks together!  Be daring & creative when you put 'khakis" on your boys -- whether it be cords, chinos or shorts!

Enjoy your week!

{boy1 is paired his acorn cords (waiting for spring) with a great Lucky Brand tee, and his black converse; boy2 paired his acorn cords with a 'Proud Pig" tee from Southern Trend, a green plaid button up from Target (old) and lightweight Ralph Lauren quilted jacket similar here or here and his fave kicks; 2nd look is paired with a long sleeve tee & socks from Mini Boden (last season)}
